Eyelash extensions can not be applied unless you have had a patch test with us at least 48 hours but we recommend 72 hours before treatment, even if you have had them done elsewhere and they were fine, as different therapists use different glues.
On the day of treatment avoid wearing eye make-up.
Remove contact lenses prior to treatment and bring a pair of glasses to wear afterwards. Treatment can be done with them in but it is more comfortable without.
Eyelashes should be tinted beforehand if your lashes are lighter than the extensions. This is optional but gives a better result.
Tinting or perming should be carried out at least 72 hours before having eyelash extensions.
Your eyes will need to be kept closed during the procedure. You can ask for a break and open them but this will slow down the treatment and may result in less lashes applied in the time slot.
Semi Permanent Individual Eyelash Extensions
Eyelash Extensions are great for:
*Clients who wear glasses
*Contact Lens wearers
*Clients going away on holiday
*Clients with allergies to mascara
*Anyone wanting fuller, more defined lashes
Eyelash Extensions were developed in Asia. They are individual synthetic lashes applied and bonded to the natural lash. There are varying lengths from 5mm - 15mm with different thickness and curls. the base is flat and the tip is fine, making them identical to natural lashes.
A full set of lashes can take up to two hours, depending on how many natural eyelashes you have. Extensions can only be applied to existing lashes, you can not add extensions where there are no natural lash.
The procedure is not painful, but you will be required to lie on the couch for the duration of the treatment with your eyes closed. They can be opened at most points throughout the treatment if you just let the therapist know.
No damage is caused to the natural lashes unless the extension is pulled out. Having eyelash extensions does not cause the eyelashes to fall out any quicker, they will continue to fall out at their normal hair growth rate.
The average life cycle of a natural lash is around 90 days. A full set of eyelash extensions will need a rebalance or infill every 2-3 weeks depending on how the lashes are looked after. This is also dependant on whether lashes are applied to brand new lashes or old that are about to fall out. This is difficult to tell whilst applying lash, but a full set generally guarantees most eyelashes have an extension attached.
